Just bought this XL 2022 Kona Dr Dew used. It’s seems like a nice cushy ride for some hilly terrain. Gonna ride it like this for a while, but might end up wanting to be able to sit a bit more upright. Any suggestions for handle bars if I decide to change them out

Adjustable stem ?
Best things since sliced bread.

X biking is a state of mind

Looks like that stem is already somewhat upright. Would suggest something like bmx bars with a large rise to get more stack height.

You could just try and swap the stem for a riser stem. Search for “threadless riser stem” and there are a lot of options.
That’s a huge bike with a lot of reach and the seat is up very high and forward. Saddle fore/aft adjustment is more about pedal stroke than reach, but if you’re a super tall person I understand that the seat tube angle can make things tricky.
Having the seat too high is a common fit mistake. Try dropping the seat post a little and/or get a shorter stem w/more rise. That would be the cheapest way to get slightly more upright before you go spending money on new bars and potentially have to get new cables and housing on top of that.

Jones bars on a Kona Dew work really well.
Fenders, a bell, and a basket? You’re X biking, son!
Surly Sunrise bar is a common choice. Or the newer, slightly larger with more sweep, Sunset bar.
Ritchey recently came out with an alt bar with a good amount of rise, the Buzzard bar.
S&M BMX makes sweet steel stuff in the USA.
Tons of options out there!
X biking has been gentrified. This is a Y bike.
fairdale makes a 4″ and 6″ mx (2 pc) bar for $40, will need a bmx style stem too though or adapters for 7/8″ clamp
30 mm stem with [Moon Cruiser 31.8](https://www.ergotec.de/en/products/lenker/sub/city-trekking-lenker/produkt/moon-cruiser-bugel-31-8.html) bars for upright. Otherwise Jones/Jones clones, even the cheap but good UNO bars from Aliexpress with the [High Charisma 31.8](https://www.ergotec.de/en/products/vorbauten/sub/ahead-vorbau/produkt/high-charisma-31-8.html) or the 25,4 version. Note that that stem is exactly the same as the VO Happy Stem (probably both a straight Taiwanese catalog product). Also see the Ergotec Space bars at that site, they’re like little Jones bars, and they have a riser version now as well. Edit: US importer is Zeitbike @ [info@zeitbike.com](mailto:info@zeitbike.com).
Not an xbike.
However it is perfect for xbiking.

Cool bike btw!
