Can you heat hydraulic brake cable to bend it? I’ve got a surly corner bar and the hydraulic brake cables are a tad too short. But, some guy i know told me i could heat the brake cable with a heatgun or a hairdryer to bend it at an angle to make the cables bend more naturally. Is this a thing?

those cables look dreadfully short. i don’t know if heating would help sorry
That is not a thing. If you heated the hose enough to bend it, it would be likely to kink and/or be prone to failure. If it didn’t kink and did achieve a nice bend, then you’re basically stretching one side of the plastic inner tube while the plastic is soft, which will decrease it’s wall thickness. Will it still be strong enough? Idk, and no one else will either.
i don’t think bending it further would solve this problem- too short is too short unfortunately.
Haven’t heard. Doesn’t sound like a good idea, doing anything to hydraulic hoses that wasn’t intended.
I’ve warmed housing to eliminate coiling, same as letting it sit in the sun will do. But that’s not your problem… Your problem is that your hoses and cables are far too short.
Especially that right-hand brake lever; wouldn’t surprise me if you’re damaging something there. You really need new houses, cables, and housing if you’re going to use that bar. And regardless, check that right brake lever for kinking at the lever. That looks really problematic there.
It could be a thing. I used to design tubing in the automotive sector and we would frequently get that plastic tubing thermal-formed. They would basically run boiling water through it and then place it in the mould to hold the shape whilst it cools. I would suggest not putting water through your brake lines, but if the plastic has similar characteristics to that, it could work.

Ah yes the surly corner bar. i love it, but: Con: i had to replace every cable. Pro: i learned how to do that and how to bleed brakes properly and now they work better than ever.
Not a thing my man. They are as rigid as they are because they have to be strong.. unfortunately you need new brake hose and to bleed both brakes.
The Good News is that you could use your rear brake hose for the front and only have to buy one length of hose!
No cables in hydraulics.

You need longer hoses and reveled the setup.
You need a Park PS-112 (if Shimano) or a PS-124.5 (if SRAM)
Even if you get a tighter bend that right hand (left of the image) brake hose is exploding when you turn the bars all the way right. Is there any slack at the other end you can push through?
Not a thing. You can’t fix short cables
Do the lines have to be routed to the opposite side of the head tube? If they came down on the side of their head tube then it looks like there would be enough slack
