Just took off my Pake decal stickers during a clean. Any suggestions for adding color to this silver mercury frame.

Ideally don’t really want to change handlebar color to anything too far from black, don’t really want to remove any of the current parts besides maybe chainring bolts, considered a colorful half frame bag but they are quite pricey, and I don’t really want any stickers besides maybe a single additional one that blends with the color palette.

Give suggestions!

I want to make my bike colourful, but don’t want to change any existing parts, add any stickers or buy a colourful bag 👍🏻

  2. I think whatever you do less is more, I wanted to add a little more red to my all black and silver Squid and I ended up going with red hubs laced to black rims and I got the multi-coloured strong-v grips with the base black colour. Turned out well but even just that brightened it more than I expected lol

I think maybe on this build some tasteful stickers on the seat tube would help brighten it a little and maybe a little charm hung from the seat would pop. Do it right though, make your own charm or find a really nice one and pick your stickers almost as carefully as you’d pick a tattoo, placement and all that jazz is really important. I have a lot of stickers on my Volume but they all came from brands/companies that I really love and support. The three that didn’t come from bike companies/collectives I love are the two magpies on the down tube and the “tell your cat I said pspsps” on the non drive side of the top tube. I wanted that bike to really represent my personal relationship with fixed gear and I think it has done so well but it is by far the most stickered out bike I have ever owned. Nice bike! I’m excited to see what you do with it.

  3. I mean bro you’re giving us very little to work with here

But it sounds like you might need a saddle charm or some anodized valve stem caps

  4. The only thing I can think of that you didn’t name are anodised not kits. Grips maybe as well.

“I want to alter my bike but I don’t want to alter my bike. Help me alter my bike!”

Maybe actual list the things that you *would* be ok with changing, as you’ve taken most things off the table. Paint the frame? Bar end tassels, maybe?

So hear me out; scrub the frame with light sand paper, the lightest you can find. Go to spray.bike, go to the keirin collection. My favorite is the rainbow flake, but any color looks cool, specially since you have a basic but versatile color. Wait at least 2 days before installing parts, unless you want chips or fading like my sugino sprayed chainring😅

  7. I have the same frame. I personally kept it mostly black but one my cages gold and my fork is white with a bunch of stickers. Literally it’s a blank slate. Just find colors you like. Or strip the frame and paint it
