Should I upgrade to Shimano 105?

Hi Everyone,

I picked up this bike at the end of last summer and have ridden it quite a bit since then. I absolutely love the way it looks! I’ve been browsing for other bikes with Shimano 105 R7000 or R7100 groupsets pre-installed, but honestly, none of them have matched the aesthetic appeal of this one for me. Of course, I get that looks are subjective, and not everyone might share my opinion, but for me, this bike just feels perfect.

I don’t necessarily need a new groupset since I mostly ride solo or occasionally with my dad. However, I’ve heard that the Shimano 105 is a fantastic upgrade in terms of performance and value, and I’m wondering if it’s worth investing in to make this bike last even longer.

Currently, it’s equipped with SRAM Apex, which has served me well, but I’m curious:

1.  Would upgrading to Shimano 105 significantly improve durability or performance for my type of riding?

2.  Where could I find a reliable, authentic used Shimano 105 groupset for a fair price?

I’m not looking to upgrade just for the sake of it but rather to ensure this bike remains a long-term companion.
