I want to start the New Year’s off right, so don’t flame me!
I got this bike yesterday and was wanting to tune it up and upgrade it to my extent. I know nothing about bikes so if there’s any knowledge that y’all can share, that would be great. It looks like it sat out in the rain for a bit and is quite rusty on most of the bolts, chain and exposed wiring. But other than that, it looks great! Hoping to be able to ride this bad boy and thank you for any support that is given.

First clean the living hell out of it. After that see what really doesn’t work. In all honesty, from the looks of it just a clean and chain/cassette change might be all that is needed. If it works it works!
Happy new year! Just me but if the chain is rusty or stiff at all dont bother with it. Get a new chain and a ‘missing link.’ Throw it on and see how it shifts. If its a commuter, get marathons tires. If not, i dont know, maybe get tool kit and start watching youtube howtos. Im couple months into my journey myself. My bike was found at the dump so ive been habing a great time learning on it.
