I have a 68 mm frame, with the bearings installed it has a width of 90 mm. The spindle is 100 mm.
The crank came with pre-load ring (non threated) AND this wavey washer thing that is used for the preload in other Zrace cranks that I use.
I got a bottom braket by Zrace called BB-BSA29R, which when installed brings the width to 90 mm. The bottom braket also came with a 3 mm spacer that fits the spindle. It is marked as "3mm-R ROAD" (the 'R' propably stands for "right side"?) To adjust the chainline, I assume.
I am runnung it on a 2× road bike, so I installed it with the spacer on the right side amd it looks fine.
My question is: for the pre-load I just use the adjuster ring, right? Would you use the wavey thing as well? And if so, where would you put it? Drive side, left side, between spacer and BB, between adjuster ring and BB?
I see quite some spindle on the left side. Should I get spacers between BB and frame to see less of the spindle or is this cosmetic? Would you put grease on the spindle or will that work against the adjuster ring?

Are you sure the preload ring is non threaded? That’s strange
If there is no adjusting using that ring, then you must use the wave washer. You would normally put the wave washer on the drive side, and install the crank like that. After installing and torquing it correctly, check the wave washer. The wave washer should be compressed enough to be almost flat. If it’s not compressed, or compressed too much, you’ll need to add or reduce the spacers. That’s how you preload it
Read the instructions, sometimes if the BB is installed certain ways or a different crank is meant to be used with it the wave washer is used but others aren’t. Also remember that the driveside will cover more than just splines on the spindle so there will be less than 100mm of available spindle. The wave washers are there to create some preload, so I’d, assuming the instructions don’t say otherwise, would install on the crank side, tighten that arm down as tight as possible, and turn the adjuster ring till there’s no play in the crank and then give it 1/2 a turn more or so. This will allow the wave washer to take up any unfelt play and also see that that crank doesn’t need to be adjusted when the bearings set after a few rides.
Wave washers are used with those adjustable preload systems.
