Hey everyone, I’m looking to get back into mountain biking after riding a few times as a kid on green/blue trails. I’m looking to avoid renting bikes and would love some advice before purchasing my first bike.
Here’s what I’m looking for:
- Budget: I want to keep the cost under $2500. That cost doesn't include protection I already have all my gear.
- Type of Bike: Ideally a full suspension bike. While I know a hardtail would probably be fine, I know myself, and I don’t want to have to upgrade in a couple of years to a full suspension.
- Riding Style/Plans: I’ll mostly be riding on green/blue trails (flatter terrain, some climbing, and a little downhill), but I might eventually want to get into more rocky terrain.
I’ve been looking at the Canyon AL Spectral 6 which is currently priced at $2,300. I like it because it seems to hit the sweet spot between price, performance, and full suspension, but I’m open to suggestions if anyone has advice on other bikes at this price point.

I’d really appreciate any insights or recommendations! Thanks in advance for your help!

Spectral is more enduro focused. Go for the Neuron if you are doing regular trail riding.
I bought used carbon bike with carbon wheels for 2.5k. Look around, offer 2.5k on 3k bike and here you go
