Hey friends! Just moved to Seattle, WA with my Kona Rove and I was hoping to get a few recs for decent gravel rides in Western Washington. I scoured the sub and saw a few posts from a couple of years ago, but some of the routes are either closed down or on private property now.

LOTS of forest service roads in the Cascades, starting in North Bend. The Palouse to Cascades Trail is a state park bike trail on old railroad routes from North Bend to the Idaho border. Amazing scenery.
Free stuff: The Thrilla loop in Redmond/Woodinville is excellent and accessible year round. The Snolquamie Valley Trail (SVT) is a nice ride but very flat. Going up to or through the tunnel on Palouse to Cascades trail is another great option. Tiger Mountain and Raging River are both mountain biking spots but have lots of gravel roads to explore.
Lots of loops Cambell Global private property. I personally think the permit is worth the annual pass.
Suggest reviewing the website OMTM (Our Mother the Mountain). They provide a great resource for PNW gravel. Good luck!
Welcome to Seattle 👋🏻
If you still have a facebook account, the Northwest Gravel Riders group has lots of routes and discussion, although moreso in the summer than now: [https://www.facebook.com/groups/723830214380798](https://www.facebook.com/groups/723830214380798)
Also the Seattle Cyclist discord server is great for gravel discussion and all other kinds of cycling: [https://discord.com/invite/EWskQY4V7F](https://discord.com/invite/EWskQY4V7F)
Also consider checking out the Guerilla Grind unsanctioned “race” series over the next couple months taking place on the Kitsap Peninsula, across the ferry. Might be a good way to meet some folks: [https://www.bikereg.com/guerrilla-grind-01](https://www.bikereg.com/guerrilla-grind-01) [https://www.bikereg.com/guerrilla-grind-02](https://www.bikereg.com/guerrilla-grind-02) [https://www.bikereg.com/guerrilla-grind-03](https://www.bikereg.com/guerrilla-grind-03)
Saint Shreds is a great spot go rip around! I also recommend the Snoqualmie Valley Trail for casual gravel riding. Tolt Pipline trail is supposed to be chill but has some monster hills.
There’s a route called the “Chily Hilly” that is a dirt/gravel focused of the classic Chilly Hilly ride.
Check out joy ride bicycles and the Olympia cycling group on Facebook.
Winter is “gravel season” down here. The next monthly Gravelpalooza ride in capital forest should be coming up here very soon. Last couple rides we had 40-50+ people! They are no drop rides but there’s the expectation that you have a modicum of fitness. people from Seattle do come down so maybe there’s an opportunity to carpool.
Note that the forest is HILLY. Expect about 1,000 feet of climbing for every 10 miles.
Hope you can join us!
