Good patience and negotiating! I laugh at some people who demean the guy with too-high asking price (like that guy last week who proudly recounted his longwinded lecture to the seller). Getting turned down is just the start of a waiting game that can work out.
I use those pedals, and have the same OEM Marin seat (thrift store, $5), hard to beat.
