    You’re looking mostly at damping. In order to prevent compressed energy from going back up at you, some amount of wheel vertical speed is slowed intentionally by converting that energy to heat waste.

    Add in a dash of static friction when changing up vs down that telescopic forks are known for, and you have yourself a normal fork.

    Despite all the jumps and such, the idea of suspension is to stay in touch with the ground.

    You should see the independent oil coolers on desert racing trucks!

  2. It’s a stupid and useless test as it says nothing about the suspension performance with you on the bike.

    Nevertheless, if you want it to look good on camera, reduce the tyre pressure. Thank me later.
