a day in Gausā jūdze trails – Latvia seaside | Ragaciems | MTB | 2022 winter

Ragaciems is a small town on Latvia coastal line with Baltic sea.
After Ragaciems, there is almost interrupted (with few small towns) forest and dune trails untill Engure town. First part of it is called Gausā jūdze.
Regarding terrain and paths – well, you actually have some choices here:
1. – you always can ride on the beach with solid sands, but keep in mind, there are couple of really small rivers to cross (can be done by foot, no loose sand near water);
2. – most exciting and challanging for MTB would be forest trails, that have quite amount of roots and old trenches;
3. – from time to time, there is a man made and maintained paths, these you can find almost in middle of forest (between road nearby and coast line).
So depending on your line choice (1, 2, 3) be prepared with a suitable bike on trail.
I myself still use hard-tail, with 2.35″ wide tires and 29″ diameter wheels.
