Wavy is a cool look, imo
Old school round.
Wavy on a high end, more “luxury” bike; round on what most people (including myself) have.
Wavy on an endurance Giant or Trek looks like a race wing spoiler on a Camry.

If you want to be subtle you can save a lot.

According to Zipp, another benefit of the wavy wheels design is the supposedly better for cross winds performance. I’m not sure how much of a difference in the real world one would see with deep dish wheels though. Personally I would get the Helix, which hopefully I’ll be able to get next year.

I can’t comment on the Helix granted I would probably just buy those but the Drive wheels since they are just an insane value. I have had two pairs so far with zero issues. One I am running on my Scott Foil, the other I had on an Aethos and ended up selling to a friend, and the third pair I just bought I am going to put on a new build. The 40mm/50mm weigh 1300g or less and that’s with tape, they come with carbon spokes, hybrid bearings, and tubeless valves while running a reasonable 21mm internal with the 15% that always is applicable they come to $1050 shipped and I just got my last pair for $958 because every purchase you do you get reward points. For $1000 more or less I am just not sure there are really any wheels that compare to these. I have had Winspace Hypers, Syncros Capital Series, Rovals, various Hunts, 9Velos, Shimano, Light Bicycle Wheels, and none of them gave this kind of performance and spec for this price.
With this said the 15% is not applicable on the Helix line as of today thus you are paying a pretty premium at $1500-$1700. IMO if you really want wave design wheels I’d just go with Super Team S ALL carbon Ultra D28-50 Discs wheels for like $940 shipped at 1385g with 21mm internals

I have Lightbicycle ar465 front and ar565 (wavy rims) back. Their biggest advantage in my opinion is their cross wind stability. I had aluminum stock rims before and I bought 465mm in front because I was getting ready for the inherent instability of crosswinds. To my surprise it’s even more stable than my stock aluminum rims. I would’ve gone 565mm in front if I had known that before hand.

Round. When I got my SuperTeams I was tempted to get the wavy but it just seems – pointless? I don’t know, felt like I’d have buyer’s remorse later. I like the round 50-60 deep look best.
