Hello everyone!

I currently have a small electrical bike and wanted to change for the next year. When checking online, I discoverd this brand and it looked like it could fit my needs. But unfortunately, I have some questions I could'nt really find some responses online.

So, my usage will be to commute to work and also doing some long rides on the weekend. As the road of my city are quite bad (Brussels) and there is a lot of trails to do in the region, I was thinking to buy a Gravel. I wanted also to treat myself so I was thinking about buying the Grilz in the carbon version.

But as I will use it to go to work with, and that it rains often in my country, I wanted to also equip the bike with fender set and also a rack (to fit a laptop in a bag). In the rack description, it doesnt list the compatibility with the carbon version of the bike.

Are the carbon frame not suitables for thoses accessories ? Is there any other brand of accessories that are suitable for carbon frames ? Or should I totally not go with a carbon bike to work if I need to accessories ?

I also have some question about the tyres. The bikes are currently sold with 45mm tyres by default, is it something I can change when ordering ? I would like less thick tyres for my usage.

And last question but not really related to the brand: is electronic shifting good ? Does it require more maintenance ?

Best regards!

  1. You need a rack that doesn’t need any screws at the rear axle. The carbon version doesn’t have those. Ideally, you’d also get one that mounts onto the axle. Something from Old Man Mountain for example.

    And yes, they are expensive.

If you want to be safe with the fenders too, I’m using the SKS Speedrockers XL, since the Canyon ones are sold out in the 27,5 inch version.

And no, you can’t change any parts.
