I didn’t want to set up a paint booth in my apartment this winter, so I went for a different color scheme with out paint. Decided to bring the frame down to the bare metal and used steel blackener to give it a dark(black)patina. It turned out better than expected! You can’t really tell with indoor lighting unfortunately. The front of the frame I’m leaving the raw steel color. As far as rust protection goes, I’m using “Renaissance Wax” . This stuff is just magical. I’ve been using it for years.

    I love when people truly go their own way with stuff. I’m curious why you chose to send the rack bend up from the seatstay eyelets rather than just straight back, keeping the center of gravity lower. I’m also curious what the copper cable guide looking thing on the top tube is for
