My father has a puncture on his Cube e-bike. He took off the tyre and saw this strange black thing, obviously made from solid plastic and sticked to the rim with double sided tape. I unfortunately haven’t seen it myself, he just sent me this picture.
I’ve never seen anything like that, what is that?

First guess is a hidden GPS tracker – many thieves will check for air tags these days but doubt they’d take the tire off to do so.
That’s a security tag – you’re supposed to remove it when you get it home and assemble it.

How about you remove it and find out… is the valve going straight through it on the end there?
