Want to build this bike as a fixie, but the only crank I would use is too close to the frame. I want to ride the big chainring on the inner side to have a straight chainline. What do I need to look for in a new crank or is it more about the BB?

Dood. Remove the smaller ring.
If your hearts set on the inner position of this crank with that large chain ring you’ll need a longer spindle for your bottom bracket, if it’s a sealed bottom bracket then the whole bottom bracket will need to be replaced. It might make sense if you’re serious to just get a fixie/single speed appropriate crank
Sack up. Toss the small ring.
A couple spacers could do the trick
