Maybe this is interesting for somebody besides all the road bikes.
This is a so called „Einheits-Herren-Tourenrad“ (unity men’s touring bike),
designed by manufacturer Diamant during the war,
produced from 1946 to 1962 in the German Democratic Republic.
Those were the first bikes to satisfy the incredibly high demand for bikes after the war.
It‘s a solid construction with an easy geometry, very durable and relaxed to ride.

That’s a very elegant bike.
I’ve never before seen only one rod-actuated brake before.
And has it got a longer wheelbase than is usual?

I love your bike.
Immediately seeing it, I noticed the elongated top tube and the relaxed geometry of the frame more so than my 1984 Raleigh Elkhorn.
I can only imagine how well it rides down the road in a straight line.
Taking test rides ?
Thank-you for sharing.

Does the headbadge read Diamant as well as on the downtube ?

Lovely bike! It looks like a very utilitarian work horse. I feel like the long wheelbase and slack head tube angle might be coming back in more boutique brands. It seems comfortable. What width are your tires?
