This is a Koga Miyata bicycle. I can’t find the same model anywhere. It has Shimano 600 bike components, which are from the 70s. So I’m wondering if the bicycle is also from the 70s, it’s in great condition so I thought that it must be newer than that. It’s made from aluminium, very light weight. I found similar ones but not in this colour. If you know anything, please help me out. Bought it in Germany for 15€ btw. I love this bicycle and want to know more about it’s history!

  1. Some of my info may be off, but it’s close.
    – frame is steel, not aluminum
    – Koga Miyata frames are highly regarded, a high quality frame. For mid-level bikes, this is as good as it gets. I’d expect a very high quality riding experience out of this bike.
    – late 70’s or early 80’s. I have similar Shimano 600 components I bought in the late 70’s.
    – you got a great deal on this, it’s worth more but it’s not a collectible such as a top end Italian racing bike.
    – use a high security lock! But even the best locks don’t guarantee safety from theft.
