I can hear what appears to be a small piece of metal/debris getting tossed around inside the hub (similar to a coin in a dryer). I looked everywhere and can’t find a manual or diagram of internals to determine whether or not it’s serious. I’m both afraid to ride for safety reasons, and afraid to open it for warranty reasons. Appreciate everyone’s help, but hoping to hear from someone who’s opened this (or at least other FCs) up for maintenance.

They’re not massively complicated, plenty of videos online to guide you if you need some help. Swarf also can be inside the rim, and makes a similar sound. Had them apart many times, and you’re not going to have a warranty issue as they’re literally made to be undone but the consumer to switch the hub from coaster to cassette only mode as well as the gap adjustment.
