  2. If ur plan is going flatbar with deore xt and need xt brakes note there are xt flat mount u can get

  3. I just went through this with a new gravel frame and mtb brakes. A few companies make adapters but they look wonky and seem like a compromise. I just paid the $80 each for the correct calipers. They’re easy to swap and don’t cost dramatically more than the adapters.

I feel like brakes are never a bike part you should half ass.

  4. You’ll need a flat mount to post mount adapter.

Here’s the brake mount adapter model breakdown from Shimano: [https://productinfo.shimano.com/en/compatibility/C-193](https://productinfo.shimano.com/en/compatibility/C-193)

So, you would need either SM-MA-R140P/D or SM-MA-R160P/D.

    WORD OF WARNING THOUGH:
I had a pair of SLX brakes that I tried to do this with, but I ran into issues with the clearance of the caliper and seat stays on the rear triangle.

I ended up having to buy a flat mount brake and picked up an SLX flat mount to match the front SLX paired w/some GRX levers.
