A local pawnshop sold me the bike for $180. The previous owner didn’t take care of it, so I stripped it down and cleaned it up as best I could, but these stains won’t come off. If anyone has any tips, feel free to drop them in the comments. I’m really looking forward to getting this built up.

Why bother? Stickers if u really want…
Congrats on your purchase my dude! But these seem to be scratches and chipped off paint. I would use some nail clear lacquer to cover the spots with the bear aluminium so it won’t rust on you, and cover the rest in stickers. Another way is to media blast the frameset and get the thing repainted.
Many different ways you could go about this. Enjoy your ride!
Could try wd40. Spray a shit ton n scrub it off, then wash it clean.
With the power of polish anything is possible (results may vary)
I’m kinda surprised you were able to strip this bike down but couldn’t tell most of these are paint chips and not *stains*
Any patches on glossy paint, give then a go with polish.
Any automotive paint polish will work.
For parts on paint that’s satin or matte, try warm water and dishwashing liquid.
It cuts through grease really well.
I have the same, 8 years old as a dialyse beater in Paris. 200 days out at least a years, almost 60.000km…
It looks a lot worse! Beats, scratches, … But still great to ride.
Yours looks good, once finish, i am not sûre you’ll notice as much.
Embrace your patina?
Wet sand it then reapply clearcoat. Should cost 15 and barely an afternoon. Nowhere near as intensive as a paint job and pretty banger results
Embrace the patina, it’ll help you not baby the bike as much
Clean streak chain degreaser
Looks good as is. If you’re gonna do anything do a custom paint job. All or nothing.
