Finally upgraded after riding almost 2 years on an old steel road bicycle. Cyber Monday came around and I pounced.
Just wanted to share my first impressions in case anyone was curious- and well- wow! The Shimano 105 electronic shifting is insane. Quick and responsive, with maybe the only downside being having to eventually charge once a month to ensure the battery doesn’t die.
Of course, the weight of the bicycles still feels a little insane to me having come from a steelie, because it is so damn light, but I understand that’s the standard for modern road bikes with carbon frames. – Lastly and probably the craziest of all is the freehub sound is so so… quiet?? Months before purchasing this bike I obviously did tons of research and watched videos of all the coolest and newest road bicycles, which seemed to all share in common that loud crisp freehub when one isn’t pedaling… I gotta tell you I was not expecting the polar opposite to happen with this bike, but it did! I have to say I was a little sad for the first two minutes but then I got used to it real fast and I actually quite like the near-silent freehub, it’s not what I was expecting but is so damn quiet it’s almost a marvel in itself. That’s it! I love her and I think she looks great, can’t wait to get go out and put some miles on it🖤🩶

My udi2 only needs to be charged 4-5x a year and I do 2-3k miles per year and I’m on the previous generation udi2. I’d be shocked if you need to charge monthly unless you’re doing TONS of miles and shifting. Just my thoughts! Looks great! Might snag an ultimate later this year.
