I still ride a lot but haven't had a mountain bike for a while. There are supposedly sick trails near where I'm living now.
This bike has been offered to me in a trade for a project car I'm getting rid of – it's an aluminum frame with some upgrades, listed in the last picture.
Guy says it's worth $6k CAD, and while I doubt that, if it's worth $4k with those upgrades it's a good trade for me.
Also I know there aren't any drive side photos, annoying, but it's what he sent me. Stock groupset, I believe it's 2×10.
Anyways, if y'all could give me some opinions on the bike, how it could serve me as a bike for technical trail riding and maybe some downhill if I get into that, give me an estimate on it's value, I'd really appreciate it!

Who is running 2×10 in 2021? I doubt most mtbs built after 2016 even have mounts for front derailleurs.
This is a great bike, looks well taken care of and those upgrades are nice. I’m not sure what your project car is worth though. New bikes are really fuckin cheap right now, so used ones are even cheaper.
According to the Trek product page the stock groupset is a 1×12 SRAM GX just fyi
That’s a fun bike with a pretty good spec. ‘21 was a good year for the remedy.
IMO the seller/you are going to have trouble getting 4k CAD for that bike right now. The market is flooded with extra inventory right now. If you do the trade he’ll have a much easier time selling the car than you will the bike if you find out you aren’t into it.
