  1. It literally says “Reign X1” on it.

Looks at least 10 years old, maybe with updated components.

  2. >26 inch wheels
    grey uppers boxxer
    THAT rear shock
    super steep head angle
    no dropper

No dude. Stay the hell away. Try a 2011 Reign X1 maybe.

That’s a crazy steep head angle for a modern bike, not an expert but that alone is ringing alarm bells

  4. thats not a giant trance, thats a giant reign x1. 2010

That seller is absolute trash and I hope they get syphilis. Do not buy. I actually highly suggest you get them to meet you somewhere as far away from their house as possible and then tell them they are a complete piece of garbage and deserve to get scammed out of their time and gas

    Obviously obviously do not buy.

Your problem if you decide to buy it is to maintain it, you won’t be able to find tyres that size easily, it has a very low end drivetrain, I assume it also will be hard to find parts to service the rear shock, which I assume it’s long overdue for rebuild, fork is not compatible with that frame. The list goes on and on.

You will find a decent bike for a similar price.

Ps. Seller is ignorant or a POS for saying is 2023

For 500 I think you did all right, It’s going to be a downhill park bike not something that you are going to want to climb hills with.

  7. According to the frame this is a Reign and seems like a 2010 to me. Originally intended for longer travel than a trance, but not dual crown territory…

  8. LastCallKillIt on

Look at how fucking steep the front end is even with a dual crown. Fuck no. That’s some 2010 looking as shit.

  9. It’s a modified 2010 giant reign x1. I wouldn’t buy it just on the basis that the seller lied to you. Beyond that, I wouldn’t touch it because it’s been modified by someone that clearly doesn’t know what they’re doing. Third, the tires scream lack of maintenance, even assuming you don’t care about everything else expect to put another $300+ into getting everything checked over and replacing what needs to be replaced (such as tires).

You seem like a genuine guy in these comments but you should really go and do your own research instead of relying on a lot of these people in here to teach you extremely basic things that all MTBers should know. Google, youtube, and old Reddit threads are your friend.

  11. The frame is 15 years old and the fork doesn’t belong to that frame, the rear tyre is shot and a like for like replacement isn’t cheap, which isn’t a big deal unless you’re trying to save money which it seems you are. I wouldn’t touch this bike, stay clear.

Older fork and a older shock scream its not a 2023. boxxer have had black stanchions since 2015. fox has had kashima or black shock shafts since 2014.

super aged suspension and the “167” on the frame leads me to believe its a rental bike thats been frankenbiked into something it shouldn’t be. Trances were never spec’ed with a dual crown.

  13. I believe Giant has internal cable routing on their frames for quite some time. Definitely NOT a 2023. Low ball the hell out of him $250. And tell him reddit has seen his pics and calling him a liar
