I don’t know much about bmx so I’m coming to you guys for help. I have a 1985 Schwinn mountain bike that’s in excellent condition I’m trying to restore accurately. The bike originally came equipped with 26×1.75 gumwalls. They still make 26×1.75 knobbies but zero in gum/tan. My only option is BMX tires. These comp 3 type looks like they will do fine for light trail riding but being a bmx tire, were they ever used on dirt? Or are these a straight asphalt tire? Just light trail duty is what I’m going for. Any words I’d appreciate!

Don’t get too complicated with it. I had one set of tires for a long time and rode street, park, dirt, vert everything. It doesn’t make much of a difference. I rode the animal asm tires front and back (completely slick) on trails all the time just fine. You’re good man. If your bike rides, hop on. And I’m 30 and ride for 15-16 years now I think? Yeah man just hop on and shred
Dirt, originally bmx race and it’s kinda been a much copied tread since, it’ll work on most surfaces though, and trails/dirt is still perfect for a comp3
