This is the second part of my bike touring trip from Ohrid, Macedonia to Bansko, Bulgaria where I will take some rest and get some work done at Coworking Bansko. I was cycling with my friend Daniela from Chile. She hasn’t done bikepacking before and flew down to Skopje, bought a cheap bike for 50€, a couple of bags and straps to mount her backpack. Total spent was probably about 100€, that’s how cheap you can get into bikepacking.

We’ve chosen the route with the least amount of elevation and it is still quite hilly, especially for bike packing beginners. So the last part of the trip from Delcevo up to the border and to Bansko I had to cycle alone while Daniela was taking a cab.

We made stopovers in Kurmanovo for a warmup just 40km outside Skopje, then Shtip where we have found a Couchsurfing host and in Delcevo wich is right before the border to Bulgaria.

Here you can download the GPS of the route we took https://www.strava.com/routes/12978447 or on Google Maps https://goo.gl/2z1q1v

  1. <3 <3 <3 it makes me so happy to watch this video over and over again!!!! We spent the first night in a guesthouse but I can't remember (either find) the village on the map, and before sleeping in Shtip we stoped for lunch and a nap in the park in (i think) Sveti Nikola 😀
