  1. Thanks so much for watching! Are you someone who is thinking about moving to France? Which cities or regions are you considering? What criteria are you using to help you decide? 🥐🍷🧀🐌

  2. Great video! I especially liked hearing about the sense of optimism around town. Hard to quantify, yet it’s an important trend that only a longtime resident like you could put a finger on.

  3. My wife and daughter and I visited Dijon (I was in the Marines) almost 40 years ago. We stayed at La Cloche. We didn’t speak a word of French and we both had baby faces. We ate at the restaurant in the caves of the hotel and at time the restaurant was very high end. I ordered foie gras pan seared and they brought me an entire platter. I had no idea what it was and was pretty sick from the richness of it. We ordered chicken for our daughter who was 2 and they brought her an entire chicken which I also ended up eating. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would live in France but it’s been 13 years now and all of my children and grand children live here.

  4. Hi, new subscriber here. Love your channel. My wife and I live in the US and I am also an EU passport holder (Germany). We are considering buying in Dijon with the intention of moving and retiring there. My question is if you know whether or not my EU passport will give me (us) an advantage in the entire process as opposed to only being US citizens. Thank you. – Eric

  5. Excellent video! Very interesting and informative and I agree with all your observations. We are an American-Belgian family from Seattle, WA who just moved to Dijon in August and plan to live here for a year. Enjoyed it so far!

  6. Thank you so much for making this video, it was very informative 😊 I am an American from California who visited France for three months this summer. I loved Dijon so much that I spent 15 days in the city. I am considering applying to the University of Burgundy for the annual school year. However, I would like to live in an apartment in the old city center. Do you have any recommendations for apartment agencies in Dijon? Do you know if it's difficult for Americans to rent in France?

  7. I have lived in 5 cities in Europe, and Dijon is one of my two favourites. I have been here for close to 3 years and keep finding new reasons to love it.

    Thanks for your video.

  8. Hi Suzanne, we were thinking of moving to Dijon for some time. I actually had a group of patients, who live in Dijon 9 months a year and come to Portland for medical care… I was wondering if the Nurse Practitioner profession is known in France or what is the closest equivalent. Also I am finishing my PhD in the spring and was wondering if it is feasible to teach and do research in biomedical informatics in Dijon.

  9. Excellent video. You explain things so well and clearly. I appreciate the honesty on the cons of the city as well. Overall it sounds like Dijon is a lovely place to check out. Thank you.

  10. Hello,

Thank you for this incredible video, it has given me clarity.
As a family of 4, we are exploring before moving abroad to make it easier once we arrive. Our daughters are currently @5ème and 4ème. We hope to integrate with other international families.

Is it possible to contact you?
    Sincerely

  11. I was born there 77years ago and so glad I went away from this boring place. Beautiful architecture sure but very closed society!!! I would never go back. I went to Beaune a few weeks ago for a couple of days and it s definitively the most charming little town in Burgundy. Thanks for the video it was interesting, informative and well documented.

  12. There used to be a direct train to CDG airport but even before it got removed, it was only once or twice a day passing through Dijon…. really sucks when you have to travel by plane to somewhere

  13. Awesome video!
We’re thinking of visiting and potentially planning an extended stay in the near future for retirement. What do you recommend for basic accommodations to stay in as an “intro to Dijon”? Also, we’re looking for a support group for ex-pats that can be helpful with this transition.
Thank you for making this video!
