I changed the axle on my Mavic Allroad S front hub to take a 15mm through axle, but I cannot get the through axle to pass through through the hub without issue. If pushing by hand, I can only get it to the point you see in the photo above even after lubricating. If I hit it with a mallet, I can get it all the way through, but of course it should not take that much force and it requires me to mallet it back out. Any clue what could be the issue?

Have you changed the full axle or just the end caps?
If it’s the ends, are they misaligned to each other? So the first is guiding it but never gets inside second just hits the mating face of the bore inside?
The axle is not compatible with the hub. The hub only works with a 12mm axle, since it is a Road hub, while the 15mm axle is ment for MTB hubs.
Trying to force it into the hub might damage some of the internal parts inside of the hub, for example the bearings. So in short: you need a new axle with 12mm diameter for your frontwheel.
The anodising can occasionally be too thick on thru axles. Reynolds are a perennial offender
When you get it in all the way with the mallet, does the wheel still spin?
