Back wheel? No worries. Front wheel? Worry. Haha. That’s quite the split. Never seen that before!

The tyre will blow out and that piece of rim will likely catch the brake and lock up the wheel at the same time

  3. ~~Valve is preventing the tire from seating properly.~~

~~Deflate. Push the valve in until the tire seats. Then reinflate.~~

Oh that’s not sidewall of the tire. That’s your brake track. RIP rim.

  4. That’s the rim that’s split right???? I wouldn’t ride that, I’ve had a rim fail on me before and I got lucky and managed to not crash.

Stop riding this bike immediately. That’s a fatality waiting to happen. When that rim violently blows apart, it’s going to hurt.

  6. Potential catastrophic crash. Do not ride that over 6mph. Maybe drop your air pressure in the tire as well. That’s really ugly.
Edit: I do not recommend riding this at all. But I understand that this may not be an option judging from your posts. If you HAVE to ride this (which you shouldn’t) treat it like you’re riding a time bomb.

  7. That spoke is cranked in the 2nd pic too. I’m surprised that wheel is anywhere near true enough to ride. That thing is totally smoked beyond safe usability

yeah you’d be right, don’t ride it unless you’re willing to take that risk

  9. If that’s the front tire you’ll be in for an especially bad time when it fails

    Replace asap

  10. Your face and body will look like the rim and spoke. The tube is likely about to rip at the stem as well from being so off center.

Best case, you’ll be a long, slow walk from home/work/store.

Worst case, you’ll wake up in the hospital. (or maybe not all depending on how badly things go)

Neither is really worth it. **This is a stop riding this wheel now situation.**

Well we will all get there one way or the other so at least have fun on the journey

  12. When I’m flying down a hill at high speed I like to think about the fact that my bike is over twenty years old.

  13. You should change the post to 100% sure I’m gonna fall off and die soon. It will certainly happen if you keep riding. You may live, but it will break and either damage your bike or you.

  14. That wheel is absolutely done. And how did you manage to score the brake tracks so deeply? You should really take a hard look at your brake pads as well.
