Yes, I did it! Today I bought a new to me mid 90s GT Timberline and I couldn’t be more excited! Now the frame is a 20.5” and I’m 6’4” so she’s a little small but a lot of cool bikes are for me and I just couldn’t pass on this one! I paid $140 today and my plans with this are, well I’m not completely sure.

So, I post today because I would like to hear from all of you! If you have any ideas for how you would build this, I’m all ears! If you have any fun gt timberline stories, or with a gt bike in general, please share! If there’s any interesting facts about these kinds of bikes, I would love to know! If you have any questions, I’m happy to answer! You get where I’m going with this!

Great spec. The Timberlines are a great buy. Pretty sure they’re the only GT of that vintage with groove tube tucking the cabling away.

  2. Thing one, you probably need a new seat post. Right? I’d want at least 4 in of post below the top of that seat tube. Aren’t you at or beyond the limit line?

That looks like a nice project bike.
