I’ve been after a windstopper/waterproof jacket for gravel cycling/bikepacking.

I’ve narrowed it down to these 3:

Pedaled Jary Jacket
Rapha Lightweight Trail Jacket
Rab Vital Jacket

I fully understand they’re more water resistant than fully waterproof, but its more something i can layer up or chuck on in a light shower, would love to hear your review on one if you have one?

Gore Wear Shake Dry is the most packable jacket i ever had. Trail Jackets mostly are not so packable, because of the hoodie

  2. I use an old Mountain Hardwear packable windshell with DWR. One of my favorite outer layers for biking. The water resistance is of questionable value given that I’m a heavy sweater and the DWR will eventually wet out, but it does make for a nice wind blocker layer. Love that I can stuff it in a jersey pocket or top tube bag and pull it out for chilly descents.

  3. You sure you want the hood? I’ve never used one. Things like pockets, extra zippers, hoods, all make it bulkier. I have a couple of pack-jackets and my fave is by 7Mesh. I like the Rab here because that’s a nice color.
