After cycling and filming my adventure along the Forth and Clyde Canal in Scotland, engineered by John Smeaton. I decided I wanted to find out more about who this man was. Ironically in the approach to the 300th anniversary of his birth.
So with help from the Smeatonian Society and the Institution of Civil Engineers, a plan was hatched to travel the length and Brett of the UK from Plymouth to Perth from Leeds to London to discover why John Smeaton is considered The Father of Civil Engineering…
