  1. I highly doubt they meant mph lol, thats roughly 112 km/h and they definitely aren't doing that, and at least in canada, you dont have driveways straight off a highway

  2. As an avid cyclist I can tell that cycling in these roads with traffic going 70mph+ is an utterly terrifying feeling.
I would only take these risks of there was 0 other option, and still I would do it very reluctantly

  3. In the UK we are supposed to drive on the left apart from overtaking. After overtaking we are supposed to move back over to the left. I am surprised this gentleman is a qualified instructor, and would be interested in the opinion of his assessor.

  4. Yeah, when I hear a β€œ70 road”, I think it’s pretty good speed, but biking would scare me a bit. Adding the β€œmph” makes that higher end highway speeds…what lunatic bikes on that ?! Why is it legal to bike in that?

  5. Bus wasnt indicating and plenty of space left and if anything, cars on left lane should slow down and wait for right lane to be clear before overtaking.

  6. So we zoom past, possibly, the white car and instantly slow down to the point where now not only is the bus pulling away from us but we are also going slower than the white car which has plenty of space to move in front of us.
    The instructor needs some instruction.

  7. There's a few points that need addressing here….
1….The cyclist has every right to be on that duel carriageway.
2…The lady does not reach 70mph as requested…if she had done so there's plenty of time and room to pass the bus before the cyclist needed to be passed.
    3. The white car was probably doing 50-55mph….it was overtaken then found the car it had just been overtaken by reduce its speed to 44mph….the white car may have thought the learner was about to turn into one of the central reservation gaps for some reason.
Anyway under those circumstances with a vehicle in the overtaking outside lane on a 70mph road going down to 44mph the rule regarding undertaking slower moving traffic on the right comes into play.
So the white car did nothing wrong.
    3. What should have happened here if it were safe to do so is after overtaking the white car and spotting the cyclist the learner should have been instructed to move into the inside lane behind the bus and then waited for the bus to make the overtake….the learner would then have indicated and followed suit.
Alternatively the learner could have stayed in the outside lane but staying closer to the bus and at around the same speed of the bus…. waiting for the bus make overtake…and giving it room to do so.

  8. I you have to take the wheel from the student, you are pushing the student past their ability and putting everyone in danger. You should not make a habit of taking over the steering and pedals.

  9. I've cycled on a 70mph A road with a hard shoulder once, and only once. I absolutely do not recommend it. This cyclist is suicidal for cycling on this road.

  10. See this all the time, people are too busy filming tik tok or Facebook and arent looking for hazards like the white car completely obviously and should not have undertook for this reason
