  1. New 2024 Canyon Grail CF SLX 8 AXS in “Sand Grain” size Medium.
The bike is 99.9% stock except for Bontrager bottle cages & an old Specialized saddle. I ordered the build which included SRAM Force XPLR AXS 1×12 groupset, Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels, and Schwalbe Tires which I setup tubeless

    – I, like many of you, was right on the edge of two sizes (Small & Medium). Actually, the Canyon website recommended to size down to size small. I measured my current road bike and decided to go for the medium and I’m very glad I did.

    – The time from order to delivery for me in Los Angeles was extremely fast. I’d say it was less about 3-4 mail days

    – The bike showed up well packaged, but sadly the freehub body was damaged at some point. I don’t think I broke it, but in hindsight maybe I did. When I realized it wasn’t working I went to my very trusted & loved LBS and they immediately figured out what was wrong and told me how they would fix it. I messaged Canyon and their customer support were super helpful. They offered to let me return the whole bike and buy a new one. I chose to have my LBS replace the freehub and Canyon offered to pay for the replacement part & the labor which was fantastic.

    – The lesson here is if you can find a great LBS do it! I’m very lucky that where I live there are so many great shops nearby and they were more than happy to help with the issue.

    – Setting up the tires tubeless was very easy. In the box the tubeless valves were already included and the rims already had tubeless tape. The only thing I had to provide was sealant which I already owned.

The bike is fantastic and while it took a long time to get rolling it has been very well worth it.
