Got my Aeroad SLX today and am super excited to start riding it after wanting to get it for months.
Just started unboxing it and discovered (1) and odd stain/discoloration on the handlebar and (2) some kind of clip that I’ve never seen in any other unboxings.
Anyone have any idea what either are? The stain seems to be flush with the carbon, seems like it’s part of the material itself. Should QC have caught this?

Don’t think that’s normal…maybe a repackaged return?
I believe the “clip” is from a broken front light on the handlebar. Easily removable.
But the paint looks chipped and I’d return/warranty that.
That is not. Looks like acetone or something was on it. I doubt it’ll affect your watt output, but if I paid 6k I’d want it right…
No. Also, the matte finish is shiny on mine after a month of indoor use. Ugh. I appreciate the low price, buuuuuut, c’mon.
Contact Canyon, let them provide solutions and you pick one. Return, replace or compensate.
