Hi all! Recently recieved my dad’s old trek 7.7 fix with v-brakes? Had it tuned up and the. After my first ride the left v-brake started rubbing on the rim without pressing it. Looking at the break itself it seems like one side is continuously on the rim. How do I fix this? Thanks!

The brakes have tiny tension adjustment screws. One of them can be spotted highlighted against your big toe in picture number two. By adjusting that tension, you should be able to find a balance where the brakes have equal distance to the rim when not being used.
