I’m putting together some Christmas presents for my cousin that she bought for her kids. This is the first time I’ve put together a bike that had disk brakes. Did I do something wrong? I can’t tell where this strange sound is coming from
Can someone tell me what is making this noise and how I can fix it?

I’m guessing you turned the bolts on either side of the hub too tight and you’re squeezing the cones so hard against the bearings it’s squealing.
First guess: the rubber dust seal on the hub axle. Apply a drop of lube between the hub shell and the seal on each side. Don’t get any on your disc rotor. (Also take the plastic packing piece off the axle nut)
I don’t know why, but that made me laugh out loud.

Disc needs to inside the caliper not rubbing against it
It is because the bike is sad. Maybe buy it some ice cream.

its the rubber dust guard on either side of hub/axle. at the shop i usually place just a touch of light oil on hub/rubber junction when i spin wheel and shuts it right on up
Get rid of the brake and problem solved

Don’t use oil for both.
Properly align caliper, slight bit of viscous oil on the seals.
