  1. I don’t really know, I may do a similar modernization on the future, but haven’t done so yet.

    I guess some things to consider are:

    Wheel hub spacing needs to work with the old bicycle. I believe the Miyata probably would have had 126mm rear spacing, Google says that is a ten-speed rear derailleur, but I’m getting mixed results in what the hub spacing would be for that. If it’s 130mm you can probably get the wheel in and out with just a little stretching, if it’s 135mm you may have to cold set the rear to be wider.

    The front derailleur doesn’t come with a clamp, so you’ll have to see if you can find a clamp-on derailleur mount (idk if that exists or not?) Or perhaps you can find a clamp-on FD that uses the same cable pull ratio as the Dura Ace?

    I also don’t know if you can get a cable stop for the shifter cable that works with the old top-mounted shifter boss?

    By all means if you already have the answers to these let me know, I want to learn more about this for one of my own vintage bike.
