I think the answer is no, but they have a chat if you want to check. They’re a mail order company with no official outlets, so it would be odd for them to mandate that a shop perform the work.
That said, how would they know if you did it or a shop? I built mine – it;’s pretty easy. There are lots of videos on their website, and the bike will come mostly installed. You have to put in the seat, the wheels, and mount the stem.
If you’re really unsure, call your local REI store They have a service partnership with Canyon
