I’ve been torturing myself trying to choose between a decent, well ridden 1990 Ritchey Ascent Comp and a very clean 1994 Trek 920. The Trek seems heavier but has a very plush ride, the Ritchey sings a brighter tune and is the more romantic choice. It’s not one of the fancy Ritcheys, but still. The legend himself may have had a hand in it. The obvious answer is to keep both. Let the Trek suffer the indignities of winter, let the Ritchey enjoy a few more summers. I can’t ride that many bikes, right? Although now, of course, I am thinking I need something aluminum to weather all the winter road salt…
N+1 is a real compulsion.
