    2024 Bike Trip – The Baltic Way

    We leave Scotland and take the DFDS ferry from Newcastle, England, to The Netherlands and travel on to Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. Taking in towns such as Einbeck, Lubbenau, Gdansk, Kaunas, Trakai, Torun, Quidlinburg, Osnabruck and Riga. A very different bike tour for us and while there were no epic mountain passes like last years Stelvio the trip was still a remarkable one!

    And as always this is a feature length movie about our annual bike trip that we share with you guys. It’s not intended to be anything other that that!     FAQ.
    Why not visit Estonia? Sadly didn’t have enough time, would have loved to but will visit it on another trip.

    Camera equipment? – Two GoPro 8’s and a Sony A74 with Sony Shotgun ECM-B1M microphone.

    Video editing software? – Final Cut Pro with a little bit of Abode After Effects.

    How can I use all that original copyrighted music? – You can use most music but you can’t make any money from your videos, ad revenue goes to the copyright holder, we don’t make a penny from the channel.

    Why all the thumbs up? – Why not. 👍

    Would be great to know which roads you are on and names of places? – Tried it, but ended up with too much text popping up on screen, which became very distracting, so a gpx. file with all the info is available.

    How many miles per day would you recommend? – With a pillion and allowing time to enjoy the scenery and stops I’d say 200 max, ideally 175.

    Can we send you an appreciation for all your hard work? – Yes, yes you can.

    Does Helen really like chocolate that much? – Oh yes.

      Once in a year to be on the road with You. A great adventure a really nice film with perfect music. No i´m waiting for 2025. Oh, my wife ist from the north of Poland. I know many places of your journey.. Best regards from the north of Germany.

      Thanks Helen & Fraser for an interesting & entertaining video. You both must have worked really hard to create it. You live in a great country but I wonder whether like me, who lives in the South East , whether you too feel hemmed in when your riding off of that ferry. I use to o to the TT regularly until I realised I could get over to Europe easily and have fun on my own bike for less money. Roll on June 2025.

      Talk about daily extremes of weather! Great to see you both kept your delightful sense of humour despite that and loved seeing what you were eating, drinking and up to every day. Great choice of music (as always). We loved it. Thank you.

      Absolutely brilliant video and you two bounce off one another and are so entertaining. I dont usually watch youtube videos longer than around 30 mins but as a long time subscriber you are so entertaining to watch and I really enjoy watching you both on your travels. Helens dancing is really good and Frasers is not too bad either! 👍

      My wife and I look forward to your trips. We've been through the EU by car, but I would like to ride a GS there. But she's not up to it. Oh well, stay safe. If you ever make it to NYC or the USA, we'd love to host you two. We are planning another trip to Alaska with our RV. And I would ride my F750GS up the Dempster to the Artic Ocean. Cheers!
