Just had the rim trued out, and had to replace a few innertubes. Had it and rode it decently hard for a beginner for about 4 weeks ago now and thought maybe it was lack of chain lube. But inconsistent chain tension made me rethink that. So now the thought is maybe the sprocket has a problem? Tension differences seem to follow the same rotation as the sprocket if you know what I mean. Any thoughts?

You should have a spacer between the spindle and the sprocket that removes any space between them. If itβs not there the sprocket will move unevenly around the spindle and cause uneven chain tension
Donβt make your chain so tight
