  1. Hi heautiful. Welcome to Croatia dear. Also you r so beautiful. Hope you visited Zagreb, if not, you r welcome to do so. If able. Would love to be your personal guide and show you around Zagreb. 😊

  2. No offence, I'll give you brief insights into our language, where many foreigners make mistakes. It will help you read the names of Croatian places better than other tourists which read island Brač as Brak which means marriage in Croatian or island Cres as Kres which means something vulgar. πŸ˜‚

Starting with Mljet…, M as "m" in the word Moon, LJ is one letter pronounced like "lli" in miLLIon, E as Elephant, T as Traffic. Mljet = Mlli-et

We read letter I as "i" in bit or Impact or as you would read "ee" in see, letter E as Enemy, C is pronounced like the "ts" sound in the word "cats" or "bits." K is simple as "k" in the word King.

Croatian letters are always pronounced same, one letter, one sound, there's no variations of same letter like in English or multiple letters to represent a single sound, such as the "th" in "the".

It's not easiest lang to learn but is very easy to read.

We have these unusual looking letters:

Ε½ like the "s" in the English word "measure".

Ε  like the "sh" in the word "shoe"

Đ like "j" in the word "joy"

Č like the "ch" in the word "check"

Now you can start pronouncing the names of towns like a local. 😊
