Our trip to Portugal with a stop off in Bristol.
Why are we going to Portugal?
For almost 3 years now we have been running a waxed cotton deadstock fabric shop, with fabric sourced from the UK.
At the start of 2024 we began contacting Portuguese factories, with a view to expanding our shop into cotton, linen and wool – a 100% natural shop.
But before Portugal, we got a chance to spend two days in Bristol.
Bristol is a lovely city. Lots to sees, lots to do.
If you are a fan of Banksy, there are numerous installations around the city.
If you are a fan of sculpture, then check out the work of British artist Alex Chinneck.
The twisted sculptures are to be found on Cheese Lane.
If you are a fan of photography, then check out the work of Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi.
The βAt The Edge Of The Everyday Worldβ Exhibition is on at the Arnolfini.
Bristol has a great cycling infrastructure, is very walkable and is easy to navigate. The river running through the city centre allows easy way finding and is a calming influence against the traffic.
Next stop, Portugal!

Love Bristol, one of my favourite cities
It was fascinating to see you walk around the city I live in! I'm glad you liked it here
I came here for university over 20 years ago and never left. For me, it's a good balance of the liveliness of a city, but not feeling overly built up. It still feels like it's made for humans, not businesses. It's also not hard to get to green space.
It's not perfect, but I love it here.
This was soo much fun to watch.! thanks so much for taking us along on your trip π
