I just saw this on Instagram, I was wondering if anybody here tried this and if it works. I can’t mount any front rack to my fork because the tubing above the dropouts is too big so I’m constantly searching for a solution.
I wouldn’t trust the static system with the long lever.

buy some Aluminium/steel stock start drilling/filing 🙂
Or buy something called „lochblech“ in German
Sheetmetal with lots of holes – and use the hole that fits

This makes no sense… it’s like a linkage now and thus inherently unstable.
Why wouldn’t you just run the strut straight to the eyelet?

Would a longer bolt and some spacers work? Also, If you google axle mount eyelet adapter theres a few options without all the extra leverage. Id only do this if I had the parts for it on hand and didn’t care about the downsides.

You need longer bolts and some washers, not a lever that fails to do the only thing it’s supposed to do.

Go to your nearest Ace hardware, you’ll find this (or similar) near the U-Bolts.
But keep in mind this is more of a Parallelogram linkage, than a vertical support. If you do this, keep the loads really light and make sure you have a solid (not flexy) support strut attached to the crown.
Another solution is this type of rack if you have canti bosses and V-brakes (It can work with Cantilevers, but you will need a vice and bending tools to adjust the brace, this is solid steel rather than the aluminum Sunlite racks)
That’s an “i am a hipster and do stuff just for looks and status” application because it won’t hold up any amount of weight, lucky if it holds its own for a longer ride

So an answer to your question , that appears to be generic fender hardware. That stuff is typically very inexpensive and your local bike shop probably has a drawer filled with stuff like that.

The Sun Lite Gold Tec front rack is such a better solution for a basket and is under $20.
Looks good for a pic but I wouldn’t run a basket like that unless you fairy around a loaf of a single legal pad or a paperback lol

I think this would be ok if you made it as short as possible. If that person had used the first eyelet, it seems like it would be much more rigid.

This would work a lot better if the extenders were used on the basket end of the struts instead of business end of the struts
it is just some shop made/modified hardware strap. Also, not practical.
You could easily make them out of pretty much any scrap you have kicking around and see if you like them.
