  1. I wouldn’t pay too much. This is sporting the Shimano Altus groupo which is super low end/entry level.

    I’m 6’2″ and ride an xl although with modern geometry I probably could ride a large. If you can find the trek website and own a tape measure you can answer the size question yourself. As far as any good, the Marlin 5 is solidly an entry level xc bike which is way better than having no bike.

  3. Appears to be a Marlin 5 gen 2 with upgraded brakes as these usually have mech disk brakes, so thats cool.. As far as mountain bikes go, its pretty basic and XC leaning, but not bad, for the right price. 2x is unfortunate though. You’ll probably have to ask what size it is, they usually have a sticker under the seat in the front triangle. I wouldn’t pay more than ~$300. If you get it, don’t do any upgrades beyond seat/grips/pedals and tires when they wear out. Ride it into the ground and move on.

  4. You will definitely want an XL at 6’2”.   And you shouldn’t pay more than $300 for that.
