Hey all, long time lurker on this sub, finally got around to posting my own project build. Always wanted a badass Bianchi S.A.S.S. single speed, so I jumped at the chance to grab this slightly damaged frame. It had a small crack on the rear seat tube; and I had it welded back together, but it looks like the shop got a lot of spare metal into the tube when building it back up.
Currently working at it with a semi round file, wondering if anyone knows a different way? I am able to work a spare 27.2 seat tube about 3 cm / 1.5 in down the way before it rests on a small lip of excess metal.
Also, the shop must have used a vice or something to compress the seat tube while working because the opening measures real tight at just under 2.2 cm inside diameter and 2.6 cm at the outer diameter, but if I work my tube back and forth a little with grease I can get it to squeeze in there and get it started.

assuming this was bubba’s muffler shop rather than a bicycle framebuilder who did the repairs… if it was the latter, you should go and get your money back.
What are we looking at in the last picture? It looks like there’s a continuous lip of metal all the way around? Is there an old seatpost jammed in there and broken off?
Are you sure that the frame is intended for a 27.2mm seat post? Back in the day before we standardized on 27.2/30.9/31.6 as the three seatpost sizes, seatposts were available basically every 0.2mm from 25.4mm to 27.2mm. Sizes like 26.6 and 26.8 were relatively common.
