I am just about to be on my second replacement pair of these. I bought the first pair about a year ago and the fabric started disintegrating in the lower back above the pad after about six months. They gave me a code for a free replacement. Five months later the fabric just above the pad started doing the same thing. This is with the second pair.

They have sent me a code for a third pair so I respect the customer service but what the heck is going on? This area isn’t in contact with anything at all. It’s above the saddle and below the jersey gripper.

My ride details:
100+ miles/wk mix of flat/hilly
Don’t race
Road, full kit, no bags or anything
Had bike fit
No weird protuberances on my body
Height/weight normie (5’9”/165lbs/size M bibs)
Don’t even sweat much (one thing I was considering, but I’m far less sweaty than a lot of riders, def below average)

  1. Rapha Core is not worth it. With the Core stuff you’re just paying for the name with none of the quality associated with it.

  2. The photo is a little blurry, and just throwing this out there because I couldn’t figure out what was going on with a pair of La Passione bibs I liked, but is there any chance it’s mold?

Mine looked like the elastic was coming through the material, but it was hard to the touch and when scrubbed (with a toothbrush and vinegar) it came off. For me it started after I sat on a road barrier with buddies at the top of a climb.
