Is it a DIY piece or something that you can buy off shelf (the last picture is something I found but its for brake cable)? I building with the same set up as pictures which the shifter cable housing require a tight bend. Do I need it or just bend the cable housing is enough?

it’s definitely a DIY with a V-brake cable noodle.

Yea looks like they trimmed a brake noodle, for aesthetics and to not have such a tight bend with shifter cable housing.
