How’s it goin ! Picked up this Silver Eagle for $50 at a thrift store. This is my second bike , first project. I’ve been scouring the internet for any information on it and can’t find even a whisper, just a bike forum post expressing the same struggle. She’s a ghost. Gave her a tune up , replaced a rear tube and tightened the rear brake but other than that the bike is in good condition.

Couple things I know so far ::
Schwinn approved and made in Japan
Really nice lugs you don’t see much these days
333 is etched all over it

What I’d like to know ::
Anything you got , date , price estimate , general knowledge etc.
There are two small hooks facing each other on the down tube, one is pictured, if anyone knows what they’re called and their purpose Id be grateful I can’t find any information and don’t know what to look up.

Got lots of photos for y’all. Having a hard time finding the serial number, i’ve looked everywhere.

Lemme know if you have any questions or need more information. Super curious to know more , thanks much !

i would guess that silve eagle is a name that a retailer, either a bike shop or department store, used on white label frames. they probably bought the frames and labeled them, this was pretty common in the 60s-80s.

I would guess that bike is from the mid-70s, it has bike boom written all over it, cottered cranks were mostly gone by the late 70s. it is generally a pretty low quality bike, not that doesnt make it a good riding bike or fun, just low quailty and cheap when it was originally sold.

    333 was a shimano a model, [https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/site/shimano_eagle_derailleur_1st_style.html](https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/site/shimano_eagle_derailleur_1st_style.html)
